The Fall Arrest training is designed for anyone who work at a height of more than two meters or for supervisors who lead work that takes place at a height of more than two meters.
In the Fall Arrest training you learn the principles of personal fall protection equipment and which equipment is required for different types of work.
According to law, the employer is responsible for having equipment and knowledge so that the employee can work safely at heights and avoid fall accidents. Therefore, the Swedish Work Environment Authority requires the completion of fall protection training for personnel who work above two meters where there are no guardrails.

Fall protection training – What does the law say?
The employer is obliged to ensure that there is equipment and knowledge so that the employee can work safely at heights and avoid fall accidents. In the fall arrest training you learn the principles of personal fall protection equipment and which equipment is required for different types of work. According to the law, the employer must instruct and give training to the staff who work above two meters where there are no guardrails. Jobsafe’s training goes through how to work with personal fall protection in order to achieve maximum protective effect. The training in fall arrest and fall arrest equipment follows all guidelines required by law and is given via a web-based training system.
AFS 1999:3 § 57-58 clarifies that the risk of the employee falling to a lower level must be prevented. If necessary; guardrails, work platforms, work baskets or racks must be used. If guardrails or equipment cannot be used due to the nature of the work, personal fall arrest equipment must be used.
AFS 2006:6 Section 3 describes that the working conditions must be investigated and the risks assessed when lifting devices and lifting equipment are to be used.
AFS 2006:6 Section 15 clarifies that personal fall arrest equipment must be used if it is necessary for safe access to the various parts of the lifting device or if there is a risk of the lifting device being hit by another device or vehicle.
AFS 2001:3 Section 4 clarifies that the employer must, at no cost to the employee, provide the personal protective equipment needed for work.
AFS 2001:3 Section 10 requires that the employer informs the employee in advance of the risks that the relevant personal fall arrest equipment is meant to protect against. The employer must also arrange for instruction and practice and, if necessary, demonstrate how the equipment must be used so that the intended protective effect is achieved.
